Catching Up with C Square Farm!
Courtney Cooper and her team had a tremendous start to the 2017 spring season. The up-and-coming homebreds continued to gain valuable experience and the more established string of competition horses put in solid performances every outing. We’re excited to watch everyone’s progress as the team continues their season!
Competition Results
Tender Bravissimo (“Whiskers”) is seriously one to watch. He began his spring season back in Area II at the Fair Hill International Horse Trials where he contested the CIC1* division. After earning a very respectable 46.7 in dressage and adding only .40 seconds of time on cross-country, Whiskers brought home the WIN in that division. This horse just continues to impress!
Homebred Count R Lucky Stars (“Grace”) continues to learn at Training level and is slowly but surely coming into her own. She finished just outside the ribbons in the Open Training-A division.
The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event was next on the calendar for Courtney and the team. Tag turned in a personal best dressage score at the 4* level, but after pulling a shoe on cross-country Courtney opted to retire him and re-route. They plan to be better than ever next year!
Next up for Tender Bravissimo (“Whiskers”) and Courtney was the MCTA Horse Trials where the pair brought home another win! A 29.6 in dressage and just a few penalties secured the blue ribbon for Courtney in the Open Preliminary division!
After Rolex, Courtney decided to re-route Who’s A Star (“Tag”) to the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event. The pair contested the CIC3* division and delivered a solid performance. Tag laid down his usual obedient and flowing dressage test to earn a 43.4. A bit of time and two rails in show jumping had them finishing their weekend inside the Top 12!
