1-2 - Menfelt Horse Trials - Fredrick , Maryland |
| Carlingford Sky returned from an extended
lay-up and competed in his first Horse Trials since March.
"Teddy" and Courtney went our at the Preliminary level so that
"Teddy" could get back in the swing of things. And he
did just that, placing 5th in the Dressage and then moving up with no
jumping faults on cross country or in stadium. "Teddy"
and Courtney finished in 3rd place.

8-9 - Loudoun Hunt Pony Club Horse Trials - Leesburg, Virginia |

Toymaster earned his second ribbon in three tries at the Preliminary Level
with a 2nd place finish. Placing 8th in the dressage,
"Tucker" and Courtney added clean jumping rounds in stadium and
cross country to bring home the red ribbon.
Carlingford Sky and Courtney competed at the Intermediate Level.
"Teddy" also placed 8th in the dressage. He put in a brilliant
cross country round, but when Courtney and "Teddy" crossed their
own path at a difficult combination of fences, they incurred jumping
penalties and finished out of the ribbons.

22-23 - Fair Hill Horse Trials at Plantation Field - Unionville,
Pennsylvania |
| Toymaster had another good go at Preliminary,
finishing 7th in a very large division with clean jumping rounds in
stadium and cross county. "Teddy" competed at the
Intermediate Level, starting off very will with his best dressage test
of the season and a good show jumping round. Unfortunately, after
jumping 75% of the cross county course without penalty, he peaked at a
difficult coffin combination and Courtney fell. She broke her
collar bone and will be recovering for a few months.

6-7 - Flora Lea Farm Horse Trials - Medford, New Jersey |
| With Courtney coaching instead of riding,
three of the team's students competed: Neal on Hanna, Monica
Spitzer on Unterminated and Panache, and Kristen Crane. Hanna and
Unterminated competed at the Training Level, with each putting in good
dressage tests. Neal and Hanna added clean jumping rounds with
only a few seconds of time on cross county to finish 3rd. Monica
and "Boaz" also put in good jumping phases, but finished out
of the ribbons.
Monica competed Panache in her first horse trials joining Partner and
Kristen at the Novice Level. Panache had a very good dressage
tests, a clean cross country , a good stadium round to put them just out
of the ribbons. Kristen competed with Partner for the first time
and completed their first event successfully. |

21 - Waredaca Horse Trials - Olney, Maryland |
| In only her second horse trials, Panache brought
home a red ribbon, finishing in second place at the Novice Level.
With Monica Spitzer riding, Panache scored a 33.5 (66.5%) in the
dressage and then went to add a clean stadium and cross country jumping
rounds. Bringing home a 3rd place ribbon were Hanna and Neal,
finishing on their dressage score of 40 at the Training Level.
Also competing were Kristen Crane on Partner and Monica on
Boaz. Kristen put in her best dressage score of the season and
added clean stadium and cross country jumping rounds to finish in 10th
place at the Novice Level. Monica and Boaz placed 2nd after the
dressage test and then added a clean stadium jumping round.
Unfortunately, they had some trouble on the cross country course, adding
20 points for a refusal, and finished out of the ribbons.

25-27 - Area II Championships at the Fair Hill International - Elkton,
Maryland |
| With Courtney still recovering and Neal busy
at his office, Monica and Unterminated were our only entry in the Area
Championships, and did they represent the team well!
Competing at the Novice Level, the tied for 4th after the Dressage in
a division of 50. The next day they added a clean cross country
round. And on Saturday while the CCI*** cross county was running,
they completed the stadium jumping with no faults and moved up into 3rd
place. Congratulations to Monica and "Boaz." |
