EVENT TEAM RESULTS

FEBRUARY 2002

February 1-3 - Rocking Horse Stables Horse Trials - Altoona, Florida
Courtney began her 2002 competition calendar by taking three "youngsters" out at Rocking Horse.  Hugh competed at the Training Level, while Siren's Song and Toy Story competed at the Novice Level.  All three came home with ribbons!

Hugh put in solid performances in all 3 phases finishing 4th.  In doing so, he kept up with his 2001 placings of 3rd and 4th.  Siren's Song added a bold cross country round to her dressage and stadium, finishing 7th, and Toy Story, by the same sire as our successful Toy Master,  made his Eventing debut bringing home a 4th place ribbon.

February 8-10 - Basingstoke Farm Horse Trials - Old Town, Florida

Carlingford Sky began his 2002 competition season with a tune-up outing joining Hugh to compete at the Preliminary Level.  Both horses put in good dressage tests, with Hugh placing 3rd in his division.  They each added clean cross country and good stadium jumping rounds.  Since it was Hugh's 1st Preliminary and "Teddy's" 1st event of the year, Courtney took her time on cross country allowing "Teddy" to finish in 6th and Hugh to finish in 8th.

Siren's Song competed in her first Training Level Event.  She showed her now characteristic bravado cross county on her way to a 9th place finish.  Toy Story continued his eventing education, adding a technical refusal cross county on his way to a 14th place finish.

February 19 - Rocking Horse Stables Horse Trials - Altoona, Florida
Courtney competed Toy Master and Hugh in this midweek one-day event.  "Tucker" made his 2002 competition debut, while because of scheduling issues, Hugh competed HC.  (HC competitors compete in the same dressage, cross country and stadium jumping tests, but do not get counted in the final standings.)

Both horses performed well in the dressage, before tackling the stout cross county course; here each of them did very well, cleanly jumping the course.  Toy Master then put in a clean stadium jumping round to earn a 6th place finish, and Hugh added only a rail to finish in good form.

February 22-24 - Rocking Horse Stables Horse Trials - Altoona, Florida
Courtney competed with Carlingford Sky in his first Intermediate Level event of the year while Toy Story competed at Training Level for the first time.  "Teddy" completed his dressage and stadium jumping tests on Friday before the rains came.  He then went out Saturday during a downpour.  Despite the difficult footing, "Teddy" was a star, with Courtney calling her cross country of of the most fun rides she has had in years.

The rains continued all day as "Woody" did his dressage and stadium jumping.  He did not seem to enjoy the footing, but he put in good showings in both phases nonetheless.  Appropriately enough, Sunday brought sunshine and cross country for "Woody."  Courtney guided him successfully around the Training Level course with only a circle near a jump counting against them.

Following the event, Siren's Song and Toy Story headed back to Pennsylvania.  Courtney then returned to Florida where she is to compete in the Red Hills CIC* with Toy Master and CIC** with Carlingford Sky before heading home to compete in the MidAtlantic and Northeast for the Spring.
