June 3-4 - Waredaca Horse Trials -
Olney, Maryland |
|
On Saturday, Courtney competed with Toy Story at Intermediate and
Curvaceous at Training. "Woody" did well in the dressage placing
8th. Courtney and he then added a lovely stadium round, jumping
clean and moving up to 7th place. They finished with a clean cross
county phase as well, adding only a little time to move up again and
finish in 6th place. "Slinky" and Courtney had another in
their string of great dressage tests placing 2nd. They went on to
add stadium and cross country rounds without any faults to finish on
their dressage score and hold onto 2nd place. Sunday, brought Novice
Level competition with Courtney riding Topper and Happy Talk.
Competing in his first horse trials, Topper scored 74% in the dressage;
Courtney and he added a clean stadium round, but unfortunately they had
a green stop on cross county with them finishing in 10th place. In
a separate division, Courtney and Happy Talk, did well in all three
phases to finish in 10th place.
Also competing on Sunday were Sara Gartland and Always a Lady at the
Preliminary Level. They had an excellent dressage test to lead their
division. They then added a good stadium round, but a slight
mishap on cross country dropped them out of the ribbons.

up north for the summer, the pair did great, placing 2nd in the dressage
and adding clean stadium jumping and cross country rounds to finish out
