February 3-4 - Full Gallop Farm -
Aiken, South Carolina |
| The Event Team started off the
year with a busy schedule at our first Horse Trials of 2007.
Thankfully, the event was at Full Gallop Farm, our winter
home, so no trailering was necessary. Emily Hamel
riding Grenadier Guard and Sara Gartland riding Always a
Lady led the way competing at Training.
Placing 2nd in the dressage, Emily went on to add clean
stadium jumping and cross country rounds to finish in 1st
place. Sara also jumped clean in stadium and cross
country to place 9th. Courtney competed on three horses,
all at Novice. Chocolate followed the
standard set by Emily adding clean jumping rounds to a good
dressage test to finish in 2nd place. Dante and Cloud
also had good performances finishing 6th and 7th
respectively.

February 3-4 - Rocking Horse Winter
I Horse Trials - Altoona, Florida |
| Competing for the first time at
the Preliminary, Kathy Bell riding Toy Master put in a
good dressage test. They then added only a rail in
stadium jumping and a little time on cross country to finish
in 8th place. |

February 10-11 - Sporting Days in
Aiken Horse Trials-
Aiken, South Carolina |
| Courtney and Dante led off the
weekend competing at the Beginner Novice. They
put in a very good dressage test, scoring nearly 75%.
Adding a clean cross country round, and only a rail in
stadium jumping, they finished in 1st place. A new
addition to the Event Team, Havasu Canyon competed in his
first horse trials. Riding at Novice, he and Courtney did well in all three phases with a single
rail in stadium jumping dropping them from 2nd to just out
of the ribbons in 9th. Moving up to compete at Training, Chocolate did well in the dressage and
stadium jumping, but some trouble at the water jump on
cross country, dropped him out of the ribbons. Christine
Weir joined the Team in Aiken for her first competition of
the year. Riding Amadeus, she did well in all three
phases, using a clean cross country round, a single rail
in stadium jumping to finish in 5th place. Emily Hamel
riding Grenadier Guard, and Sara Gartland riding Always a
Lady both moved back up to Preliminary. Each
had some ups and downs to their weekends, but horses and
riders came home safe and sound.

February 14-15 - Full Gallop Farm -
Aiken, South Carolina |
| Only a few members of the Event
Team competed at this midweek event. Courtney
rode Dante at Beginner Novice. They placed first in
the dressage, went clean on cross country, and added only a
rail in stadium jumping to finish 3rd. Courtney also
competed with Havasu Canyon at Novice. They did well
in all three phases but had an unfortunate error on cross
country resulting in a technical elimination. Emily
Hamel and Grenadier Guard competed at Preliminary; they also
did well in all three phases but ended up out of the
ribbons. |

February 23-25 - Paradise Farm Horse Trials-
Aiken, South Carolina |
| Students Emily Hamel, Sara
Gartland, and Christine Weir led off the weekend all
competing at Preliminary. All three did well in the
dressage, with Emily riding Grenadier Guard & Sara riding
Always a Lady both placing 5th, and Christine riding Amadeus
placing 8th. The three continued with good jumping
performances. Emily added a little time on cross
country and a rail in stadium to finish in 5th place.
Sara jumped clean in both cross country and stadium but
added a little more time to finish in 11th. Christine
encountered a few minor difficulties on cross county, but
jumped clean in stadium to finish in 12th. Courtney
competed with Lord Robert (Training), Havasu Canyon
(Novice), and Dante (Beginner Novice). She did very
well in the dressage with all three horses, with each
scoring in the 20s (over 70%). On cross country, all
three finished with clean jumping rounds and no time faults.
Lord Robert and Havasu Canyon added clean stadium jumping
rounds as well to finish in in 2nd and 4th places;
