July 1 - Surefire Farm Horse
Trials - Purceville, Virginia |
| Courtney rode 4 horses all on
Sunday beginning with Monster Boy at Preliminary. Tied
for 3rd in the dressage, they added a rail in stadium and
some time on cross country to finish 8th. At Training,
Courtney competed Chocolate, Alden's List, and Havasu Canyon
. Second in the dressage, Chocolate added a rail in
stadium, and jumped a double clear on cross country to move
up and win his division. Alden was double clear in
stadium and cross country to finish in 4th place.
Havasu, did well in all three phases, with a rail in stadium
and a double clear on cross country to finish 9th. |

July 14-15 - Maryland Horse Trials

| On Saturday, Courtney competed
3 horses at Preliminary: Havasu Canyon, who was moving up
from Training, Flyte, and Monster Boy All three
did well in the dressage, placing 3rd, 4th and 6th
respectively.. They all also jumped clean on the cross
country, adding only a little time as Courtney did not press
them on the hard ground. Flyte jumped clean in stadium
to finish 3rd., Havasu added a few rails to finish 5th, and
Monster Boy added a rail to finish 7th. Also competing at
Preliminary was Rebecca Golian on Patty Moshanko's the Color
of Kells. They did well in all three phases, jumping
clean on cross country and in stadium, but added time in
both to finish in 7th place. At Novice, Neal rode
Hanna. They turned in their best dressage score ever
(31.1 - 68.9%) and went to jump clean and within the time on
cross country and in stadium to finish 3rd.
On Sunday, Courtney returned with Chocolate and Alden's
List at Training. Chocolate scored a 30.5 in the
dressage, went clean and under time in cross county, and
added only 4 points in stadium to finish 3rd behind current
Olympic medalists Leslie Law and Kim Severson. Alden
also did well, adding 4 points in stadium as well to her
double clear on cross country to finish 8th. |

July 20-22 - Maryland Horse Trials

| On Friday, our youngest horses
competed in the Future Young Event Horse Competition,
in-hand classes broken out by age and sex. Star
Dazzler (Simon) placed 1st in the 3-year-ol colt and gelding
division, following up on his previous 1st-place finish in
June at Waredaca. R Star (Hope), was away from the
farm for the first time, placed 3rd out of 15 in the
yearling filly division. On Sunday, Dellsie Polamski rode
Hanna at Novice. Dellsie who is spending the summer at
C Square Farm recently sold her own horse, Elle, so she has
been riding Hanna and others. The pair did well in all
three phases, including clean rounds on cross county and in
stadium but finished out of the ribbons. |
