March 7-9 - Jumping Branch Farm Horse Trials - Aiken, South Carolina
Competing 5 horses in a wacky weather weekend, Courtney and the Team had their hands full (or at least their boots full of water) at times.  Friday brought dressage and several inches of rain.  At Novice, Courtney rode Tally Ho and Ms. Flintstone. each did very well, placing 1st in the dressage.  Who's a Star (Tag) and Maggie both competing for the first time at Training, joined experienced eventer Direct Glenfiddich at that level.  "Glen" lead the way in the dressage, placing 1st.

Saturday brought clearer skies and a whole lot of wind.  Building on their success from dressage, Courtney and all of the horses jumped well finishing without any jumping or time faults.  By Sunday, the cold air came in with temperatures starting off in the 20s.  First to compete in stadium jumping was Tally Ho.  She jumped clean and under time, holding on to her 1st place standing.  Ms. Flintstone jumped well but added two rails to fall a few places.  At Training, Glen jumped clean finishing in 1st.  Tag and Maggie each added one rail, both successfully completing their first events at the Training Level.

March 11-12 - Sporting Days Farm Horse Trials - Aiken, South Carolina
On Tuesday, Courtney rode Who's a Star (Tag) in the five-year old Young Event Horse division.  The pair did very well, placing 1st with a score of 75.7%, which counts as a qualifying competition for the Young Event Horse Championship at the AECs in September .  On Wednesday, Courtney  competed with Donnlara at Novice in her first horse trials.  They had a good dressage test and went on to jump clean in cross country and stadium to place 2nd.

March 16 - Sporting Days Farm Horse Trials - Aiken, South Carolina
With Courtney riding Heaven Scent and Dunlavin No Pajamas for the first time in completion, both horses competed at Novice.  They both did well in all three phases, with Heaven Scent placing 1st and Dunlavin No Pajamas placing 3rd.  Also ridden by Courtney at Novice was Icy Mist, who finished in 4th place.  Kelley Merette rode Monster Boy at Training.  They also had a good outing joining the others in the ribbons with a 4th-place finish.

March 21-23 - Southern Pines II Horse Trials - Raeford, North Carolina
Having left our winter home in Aiken, the Even Team stopped at the Southern Pines Horse Trials for a final competition before returning home.  Friday brought dressage with good performances from all the horses.  Leading the way were Who's a Star and Courtney at Training.  They earned a score of  27 (73%) to lead their division.  Courtney riding Havasu Canyon at Preliminary and Kelley riding Monster Boy at Training also did very well placing 3rd and 5th respectively.  Rounding out the day were good tests by Courtney and Toy Story at Preliminary as well as Courtney and Dunlavin No Pajamas at Training.

Saturday was cross country day for Kelley and Monster.  They went clean and fast adding only a few time faults when many in her division had quite a few.  The effort moved them up to 3rd place.  All of Courtney's five horses competed in stadium jumping, and all of them jumped clean maintaining or improving their standings.

On Sunday, Kelley and Monster Boy closed out their competition with a good round to finish 3rd.  Courtney once again had clean jumping performances on all of her horses with only a few time faults throughout.  Final placings included Who's a Star in 1st, Havasu Canyon in 3rd,  No Pajamas in 5th, and Toy Story out of the ribbons.
