| Havasu Canyon moved up a level to compete at Intermediate for the
first time. With Courtney riding, he put in a good dressage test.
The pair then went on to add nice cross country round, marred only by a
jumping penalty at a turning question; they finished up with a double
clear stadium jumping round, competing their first qualification for a
CCI**. At Preliminary, Courtney rode Direct Glenfiddich and Toy Story
(Woody). Glen set the standard in the dressage, with a score of
26.3 (73.7%) to lead his division. He jumped clean on cross county,
but added a few rails in stadium to finish in 5th place. Woody
placed in the top ten in the dressage and then went on to jump clean on
cross country and in stadium, placing 6th. Who's a Star (Tag) and
Courtney competed at Training. They also placed in the top ten in
the dressage and jumped clean on cross country and in stadium to finish
5th.

| Courtney rode six horses in this two-day event, competing at Novice,
Training, and Preliminary. At Novice, Donnlara led the way.
She placed 3rd in the dressage, had a very nice round in stadium jumping
to move up to 2nd, and then went clean and under time on cross county to
finish 1st. Also competing at Novice was Icy Mist, who put in
solid performances in all three phases to place 9th. At Training,
Courtney rode Who's a Star, our five-year-old homebred better known as
Tag. They did well in the dressage, but Tag was slightly
distracted in stadium jumping adding two rails. He then went on to
go clean on cross county and place 9th.
At Preliminary, Havasu Canyon led not only his division but all 62
horses at Preliminary after the dressage. He went on to jump clean
in stadium and on cross country. A few seconds on time on cross
country dropped him to 2nd place in his division. Direct
Glenfiddich also did very well in the dressage, placing 3rd. He
went on to jump clean in stadium and cross country. He also added
a little time on cross country placing 4th. Courtney rode Toy Story
at Preliminary as well, placing 9th. |
