Competing in the CIC 2*, Courtney and Havasu Canyon had a
lovely dressage test, placing 5th out of 35.
Unfortunately they did do perform well enough in the jumping
phases to earn a qualifying score. They plan on
competing in another CIC 2* this fall as they work to
qualify for the Fair Hill International in October.
Competing at Training, Courtney rode Dunlavin Fox and Who's
a Star (Tag). Fox followed Havasu's lead in the
dressage placing 4th out of 20. They went on to jump
clean on cross country, and move up to 3rd but added a rail
in Stadium jumping to finish 7th. Courtney and Tag
placed 10th in the dressage, jumped clean on cross county,
and also added a rail in stadium, finishing 11th.

On Saturday, Competing at Novice were Courtney on Star
Dazzler (Simon) and Kelley on Scout. Both pairs did
well, with Courtney and Simon placed 7th in dressage before
going clean in cross country and adding a rail in stadium to
finish 5th. Kelley and Scout, who was competing in
only his 2nd event and first time at Novice, placed
6th in dressage, and the jumped double clears in cross
country and stadium to finish in 3rd place.
On Sunday,
Courtney competed four horses at Training with ribbons for
all. Chocolate lead the way, placing 1st in dressage
and jumping a double clear in stadium and cross county to
take home the blue ribbon. Only slightly outdone was
Dunlavin No Pajamas, who placed 2nd in dressage and also
jumped double clears to finish with that placing.
Similarly, Dunlavin Fox placed 4th in dressage and jumped
double clears to hold onto his placing. Rounding out
the horses was Who's a Star (Tag), who jumped a double clear
in stadium; he also added 2 seconds on time on cross county
to maintain his dressage standing and finish in 5th place.
