Courtney traveled to New Jersey to compete with Vendi Spring and Believe in the Stars (Bits) at Novice.
Vendi lead the way in dressage, tying for first place. He went on to jump clear and under time in both stadium and on cross country, to remain tied for the lead. However, the tie-breaker is being closest to optimum time on cross country, and since he was 2 seconds faster than the other horse, he finished in 2nd place.
Bits did well in dressage; she also had a good stadium round but added a rail to her score. On cross country, she went clear and under time, finishing out of the ribbons.
