Keeping Up with C Square Farm!
August was a stellar month for Courtney and the entire team at C Square Farm! There were some seriously great results brought in by the upper level horses and the babies just starting their eventing careers! Courtney imported two talented Irish horses after a successful shopping trip in Ireland and they’re currently searching for their next partner. Competition Results
After successful back-to-back show weekends at The Maryland Horse Trials, Courtney took a few horses including homebred, Rising Star (“Baxter”) to his first event at the Olney Farm Horse Trials! Imported sale horse, Excel Star If Never WON his Novice division at his first event stateside on an impressive score of a 28.3! Sale horse, Billy Idol followed right behind him, taking home a pretty red ribbon in the same division. Rising Star (“Baxter”) finished his first USEA event in style. We’re so proud of him and can’t wait to see where this horse goes in his career!
Next up for the team was a busy weekend at the Fair Hill International Horse Trials! Sale horse, Billy Idol had another impressive showing at Novice, finishing in 7th place in his division! Imported youngsters, Excel Star Mesmerise and Excel Star If Never had educational days as well, finishing just outside the ribbons in their divisions! Count R Lucky Stars (“Grace”) successfully completed her first Preliminary and Caia Z had another noteworthy performance, finishing in 2nd place in her Training division.
Waredaca was the last event on the calendar before Courtney made the trek down to the American Eventing Championships! Who’s A Star (“Tag”) had a good day in the Intermediate division, and Excel Star Mesermise and Excel Star If Never contested the Young Event Horse 5-Year-Old division, finishing in 9th and 6th place respectively.
The American Eventing Championships located at the Tryon International Equestrian Center was another amazing experience for Courtney and the team. Caia Z (“Caia”), who’s had an incredible year, continued her streak with an outstanding performance, becoming the Reserve Champion Training Horse! Who’s A Star (“Tag”) performed well in the Adequan Gold Cup Advanced division as well! Just a slight glance-off on cross-country moved them down the ranks a bit, but Courtney was thrilled overall with their performance!
