Courtney rode Havasu Canyon in his his first competition in over a year. Competing at Preliminary, they put in a good dressage test but were rusty in a few movements, placing 4th. They moved up to 3rd by jumping clear and under time in stadium. On Sunday they added a clear cross country round, but as Courtney intentionally went slowly, they added several time faults to finish 5th.
Not to be outdone by his stable mate, Who’s a Star also competed at Preliminary (in a separate division). He also placed 4th in dressage and jumped clear and under time in stadium to move up to 3rd. He went on to jump clear on cross country, and with only a few time faults moved up to finish 1st.
At Training, Courtney rode Star Dazzler and Scout. Both horses went well in dressage and jumped clear and under time in stadium and on cross country to finish on their dressage scores, with Simon placing 4th and Scout 8th.
