For our first event back from Aiken, we traveled to the Morven Park Horse Trials with Courtney riding Who’s a Star (Tag) at Intermediate, Nevaeh at Training, and R Star (Hope) at Novice. Gillian Cowley capped off her spring break competing her own Gabriella Rosselini at Novice as well.
First out on Saturday morning was Tag who put in another very good dressage test to lead his division with a score of 29.6. He had a good stadium round, adding a single rail before going clear and under time on cross country to finish in 1st place.
Nevaeh also did well in dressage scoring just 1.8 points off the lead in fifth place. In stadium, she reminded us that she is still only 5 years old, adding two rails. She and Courtney regained their form on cross country jumping clear and under time but finishing out of the ribbons.
Sunday started with Gillian and Gabby, who had a great dressage test, scoring 28.5. They jumped clear in both stadium and cross country to finish on their dressage score in 5th place. Courtney and Hope, who only started competing this year, had a nice dressage test, but did not score very well. They went on to jump clear in both stadium and on cross country, moving up but finishing out of the ribbons.
