Morven Park Horse Trials – Leesburg, VA. October 2-3, 2011

Courtney competed with Who’s a Star (Tag) at Intermediate, Nevaeh at Training, and Chocolate Martini at Novice.

As it has done for nearly all of our fall events this year, it rained all day Saturday in Leesburg. Tag started things off with a great dressage test in the indoor arena. Besides staying dry, Courtney and Tag did very well, scoring 31.2 and placing 3rd. Later outside in the rain they had a good stadium round, adding just a rail.

While it stopped on raining overnight, the footing for cross country was fairly wet. Courtney decided to run Tag over only the first part of the course, intentionally pulling up after the water jump to give him one last bit of cross country before he goes to the Fair Hill International CCI next week.

Nevaeh did not get to enjoy the indoor for dressage, and instead competed in the pouring rain. She put in a good test scoring 32.3. She added a rail in stadium and jumped clear on cross county to move up and finish 3rd.

Courtney competed with Chocolate Martini for the first time. They scored 35.0 in dressage; had a nice stadium round with a single rail, and then went clear on cross country to finish 9th out of 21.
