Since Hanna, Neal’s ride for over a decade, retired a few years ago, Courtney and Neal have been looking for the next horse for Neal to compete with. He tried some of the sales horses and even competing with Havasu Canyon once in 2010.
At the beginning of 2011, Courtney and Neal decided to try sharing their 5-year old homebred R Star (aka Hope). With a very quiet and sensible disposition, Hope has competed with Courtney at Novice and Beginner Novice. Neal has been riding her, mostly on non-competition weekends.
Look for Courtney to continue competing her at Novice, and Neal to start competing with her at some local events in May or June.
