Seneca Valley Pony Club Horse Trials – Poolesville, Maryland. June 18-19, 2006

Courtney and Topper lead off what would be a weekend of red-ribbon finishes. Competing at Novice, the pair put in a good dressage test, placing 4th. They went on to add clean stadium jumping and cross country rounds to finish in 2nd place. At Beginner Novice, Courtney rode Chocolate in his first recognized event. Having learned the routine from the week before, Chocolate followed in Topper’s foot steps, placing well in the dressage and completing stadium jumping and cross country without any faults to also finish 2nd.

Also competing at Beginner Novice in his first recognized event was Ducati. Ridden by Kim Russell Rowan, they also put in a good dressage test. They went on to add just a rail in stadium jumping and a clean cross country round for a solid finish. Rounding out the weekend were Kathy Bell riding Toy Master. In their first event up since coming up north for the summer, the pair did great, placing 2nd in the dressage and adding clean stadium jumping and cross country rounds to finish out the weekend with another 2nd-place finish.
