On Saturday Courtney rode Havasu Canyon at Intermediate and Star Dazzler (Simon) at Novice. Havasu competed first, putting in a great dressage test. He led his division, as the only horse to score above 70%. He added a good stadium jumping round, knocking down one rail to maintain his first place standing. With Courtney pointing Havasu towards the CIC 2* at the Stuart Horse Trials in only a few weeks, she elected not to run cross county on the hard ground.
Moving up to Novice, and competing in his 2nd horse trials, Simon also had a very good dressage test placing 4th out of 19. He continued with a very nice stadium jumping round, adding a rail to drop to 5th place. He finished with a clean cross country round, maintaining his 5th-place standing,
Sunday brought competition at Training, with Courtney riding Dunlavin Fox, Dunlavin No Pajamas (Streaker), Milo, and Who’s a Star (Tag). All four horses had good dressage tests, as well as clean stadium jumping and cross country rounds to earn ribbons. Fox and Tag each placed 3rd, while Streaker and Milo both finished 5th.
