Tip of the Month, August 2010

Summer is a good time to look over all of your tack before you start your fall campaigns. Check all the stitching and buckles, and send anything that looks questionable out to be repaired.

Also, for your daily tack cleaning, make sure to get the grime off your tack before oiling or conditioning it. Here at C Square Farm, we will first wash the tack with castile soap and water, and then replenish the oils with a light coating of olive oil which keeps everything soft and pliable.

If we get caught in a storm (which does happen!), we will use the castile soap and then a good coating of leaderbalsem which has a heavier oil concentration.
