After Martha Anne she traveled to work with Michael Page, Olympic Bronze Medallist, at Old Salem farm.  She was able while at Old Salem to help with top-level hunters and jumpers and also help at the numerous A-rated horse shows held at Old Salem Farm.

Once at Rice University in Houston she worked with Alyce Hinkle, an upper level event rider, and it was while with her she that she competed in her first three day.

After completing her studies Courtney moved East and settled in Atlanta, working with two-time World Champion Bruce Davidson on a long distance basis and Lois Lann, the early trainer of Sassy Reason (the first American horse to win the prestigious Burghley Three Day in England) on a local basis.  At this point she also was supporting herself by building an insurance business with Northwestern Mutual.  While working in this business she achieved Million Dollar Round Table status, and received the Charter Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations.  After discussing her goals with Bruce and Lois it was decided to move north to the Unionville, Pennsylvania area to work with horses on a full time basis.
