The Fair Hill International continued on Thursday with dressage for some of the CCI horses. Since Who’s a Star (Tag) competes in dressage on Friday, our day was centered on the confirmation and dressage phases of the East Coast Young Event Horse (YEH)
Championships.
Homebred R Star (Hope) was indeed “our star” for the day. She scored very well in both confirmation and dressage to place 2nd in the 4-year-old division. Since Hope had a foal as a four-year old, the rules allow her to compete in this division even though she is five years old.
Nevaeh, who placed 3rd in the YEH Championships last year as a four-year-old, also did well. But as was the case last year, her thoroughbred breeding tends to score better in the jumping phase than in the the dressage or confirmation.
On Friday, Hope and Nevaeh conclude the YEH Championships with the jumping phase, and Tag competes in dressage in the CCI 2*.
