On Saturday, Courtney rode Havasu Canyon and Who’s a Star (Tag) at Intermediate. Both horses did very well in dressage, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively out of 26. They also jumped well in stadium jumping, with each adding a rail. Havasu jumped clear on cross county, adding a little time as Courtney continued to increase he planned pace, moving closer to optimum time, and finishing in 7th place. Tag jumped well on cross country, but had some steering issues to finish outside the ribbons.
On Sunday, Courtney competed with Johnny and Macbeth at Novice. Johnny did well in all three phases jumping clear in both stadium and on cross country to finish 7th. Macbeth had a great dressage test, but since he has not competed for a while, he had a green moment on cross county to finish out of the ribbons.
