We took homebred R Star (Hope) and three of the sale horses to nearby Fair Hill. Courtney rode Hope, Kilo, and Songwriter, while Gillian Cowley rode Always Laughing.
Competing at Novice, Percheron cross Kilo was great in dressage scoring a 24.8. He went on to jump clear in stadium and on cross country to win his division. Hope also jumped two clear rounds, but was a little fussy in dressage; she finished 8th. Gillian and Always Laughing finished 7th.
At Begineer Novice, Songwriter scored 29.1 and jumped a double clear, but unfortunately Courtney jumped the second fence twice in instead of the second and the last in the stadium, keeping her from a 4th place finish…a silly mistake.
