Jumping Into 2018 with C Square Farm!
Courtney recently closed out her fall season in Area II with another successful month of competition. The Irish imports continue to improve and gain experience, proving that they’re going to be real competitors in this sport. We’re looking forward to a couple months of training with the youngsters before we head down to our winter base in Aiken, South Carolina where we’ll hit the ground running to start the winter and spring season.
Interested in coming with us to Aiken this year?
Send us your sale horse, as always we are happy to go into detail about our long unmatched history of selling horses.
Or if you prefer, come with us to train and take weekly lessons! Tons of safe hacking, a large jumping ring and ample safe turnout. We will be happy to tailor a program to you and your horse’s needs and work with you on competition schedules, as well as helping with housing needs. Our Second Annual Holiday Auction is also being planned and will go LIVE soon! We have had many generous donations given, and are so excited for the bidding to begin December 1st! If you would like to donate an item, please contact Carly!
Competition Results
Coming into October, Courtney always look forward to the Fall Championships. Unfortunately with Courtney and Tag not being on the same page and trying to sort through that, it was up to the youngsters to come out!
October competitions began at the Radnor Hunt Horse Trials where all of the Irish horses put in respectable performances. Excel Star Kenzo, Excel Star If Never and Excel Star Mesmerise had some green moments in different phases that kept each of them just out of the ribbons, but every competition is another day where they gain more experience and Courtney was happy with each of them.
Next up for Excel Star If Never was the Fair Hill Young Event Horse Championships where he really tried his hardest. An ever improving dressage test and confident jump round kept them inside the Top 25! A great start to this talented horse’s career.
Sale horse Excel Star Kenzo made his next appearance at the Waredaca Fall Horse Trials where he earned a respectable 32.3 in dressage, and went on to add nothing to that score to finish in 8th place in his Open Beginner Novice division!
Count R Lucky Stars (“Grace”) went alone with Courtney to the Virginia Horse Trials where she contested the Preliminary Horse division. A 35 in dressage and just a time penalty in show jumping and cross-country left her in 6th place overall! This was her best performance to date and Grace is now out on a well deserved vacation!
Finally, Courtney closed out the season at Full Moon Farm with Excel Star If Never and Excel Star Mesmerise. “Missy” WON her Open Training division and “Never” followed right behind her in 3rd place! A super way to head into winter!

Our ideal candidate is hardworking, responsible and willing to learn as much as possible. Preference given to students willing to commit to 6 months or more. If an opportunity like this appeals to you, please contact Courtney Cooper at csquarefarm@gmail.com.
