Jumping Branch Farm Horse Trials – Aiken, SC. March 6-8, 2009

Eyore started off things, competing at Preliminary for the first time. The second horse to go, he did well in the dressage, and then went on to jump clear both on cross country and in stadium. With Courtney taking her time on cross country, the pair finished well, but out of the ribbons. Scout also competed at Preliminary (his second full event at this level). He placed well in the dressage, 7th out of 24 horses and then jumped clear on cross country, adding only a little time. In stadium, Scout and Courtney added a couple rails to finish in 8th place.

Kiltealyman competing at Training for the second time. He was 7th after dressage and jumped clear on cross country and in stadium to move up and finish 5th. He was joined by Mr. Parks and Star Dazzler both competing at Training for the first time. Parks put in a great dressage test, scoring 72% and leading his division. He jumped clean on cross country, but added a few faults in stadium to fall to 7th place. Star Dazzler did well in all three phases, including a clear stadium round, but finished out of the ribbons. Still short of his 5th birthday, we continue to be pleased and patient with “Simon.”

Courtney rode Chaucer at Novice. One of only 6 horses in his division to jump clear and under time on cross country and in stadium, Chaucer finished 6th. Jasmine Wallace also competed in Novice, riding On April’s Dawn. They too jumped clear and under time on cross country and in stadium, but finished out of the ribbons.
