Gillian Cowley, who spent the summer with us, flew down from New York City to compete on her mare, Gabriella Rosellini at Novice. Courtney rode Dunlavin Fox and Nevaeh at Training as well as Molten Rock (Quarry) and homebred R Star (Hope) at Beginner Novice.
Gillian and Gabby led the way, scoring a 30.9 and placing 3rd of 22 in dressage. They went on to put in a lovely clean stadium round on Saturday and to jump clear and under time in cross country on Sunday to move up and finish in 2nd place.
With over 30 horses in each of Courtney’s divisions, placing was very competitive. Foxy and Nevaeh both did well in dressage, tying each other in 9th place. They jumped cross country on Saturday, with both of them going clear and under time to maintain their standing. On Sunday, Foxy added a clear stadium round to stay in 9th; Nevaeh, who was a little tired after three days of competition added a rail to her score, finishing 15th.
As some of the less-experienced horses in their Beginner Novice division, Quarry and Hope did well, including jumping clear on cross country, but they both added some faults in stadium and finished out of the ribbons.
