Pine Top Farm Horse Trials – Thomson, GA. March 17-18, 2012

R Star (Hope) moved up part of a level, competing in the Preliminary/Training division, whic includes Preliminary dressage and stadium jumping along with Training cross country. She lived up to her name in dressage placing 1st and earning a comment of “absolutely stunning” from the dressage judge. She added a rail in stadium jumping, but that did not affect her placing. She finished things off with a great cross country round to bring home the blue ribbon.

Courtney rode three horses at Training: Nevaeh, Ballinlaugh Ice, and Columbus, whose rider Molly Gibbons is spending her spring break with us. All three horses had good dressage tests, with Columbus placing 2nd and Ice 8th. We liked Nevaeh’s test, but the judge placed her out of the ribbons. Ice had a clear stadium round while the other two each had a rail. They all went clear and under time on cross country, with Columbus finishing 4th and Ice 5th.

Vegas competed at Preliminary for the second time. He had a good dressage test tying for 5th place. He had a few rails in stadium jumping and then jumped clear with some time on cross country to finish in 6th place.

Sport did well in dressage scoring 35.7 in a large Novice Horse division. He went on to jump clear in stadium and on cross country to move up a few places but still finished out of the ribbons.
