The Event Team began the year “hitting for the cycle” with horses finishing in 1st through 5th place. Leading the way was Kathy and Susan Bell’s Snowy, who with Courtney riding finished on his dressage score of 26.5 to win in Beginner Novice. Next in line was Rebecca Gray on her own Which One’s That; they added no jumping faults to the 2nd-place dressage test to take home the red ribbon.
Next was Sara Gartland on her own Ever Clever, a former C Square Farm horse, who finished 3rd in the Junior Novice on her dressage score of 33. They were followed by Courtney riding Amy Lindgren’s Mullacash Paddy (aka Winter Sky), who also finished on their dressage score to take home 4th at the training level and Christine Weir on her own Severn Dandelion (Teaspoon), who again finished on their dressage score, to take home 5th place at Novice. Rounding out the day was Much More, who had a good go, but finished out of the ribbons at the training level.
A pretty good showing for the first competition of the year!
