In her third riding Patti Moshanko’s The Color Of Kells (Paul), Becca Golian moved up to Preliminary. They did well in all three phases, but added some time on cross country to finish outside the ribbons.
On Saturday, Courtney once again had a busy day competing four horses at Training. Havasu Canyon led the way, jumping clean on cross country and adding only a few rails to his dressage score to finish in 2nd place. Monster Boy also jumped clean on cross country, but added a little time and a rail in stadium finish 5th. Finishing on her dressage score was Alden’s List in 6th place. Chocolate added some rails and a little time on cross country to place 10th.
We returned on Sunday, with Courtney riding We Will See and Who’s a Star (Tag) at Beginner Novice and Neal riding Hanna at Novice. Neal started things off doing well in the dressage and then finishing stadium and cross country with no faults to place 2nd. We Will See also placed 2nd, finishing on her dressage score. Four-year-old Tag, who was competing in his first horse trials, had a good day improving as he went. He added only a rail in stadium, and then on cross county after some stops early on, picked up on his job and bravely jumped the rest of the course.
