Courtney competed with Carlingford Sky in his first Intermediate Level event of the year while Toy Story competed at Training Level for the first time. “Teddy” completed his dressage and stadium jumping tests on Friday before the rains came. He then went out Saturday during a downpour. Despite the difficult footing, “Teddy” was a star, with Courtney calling her cross country of of the most fun rides she has had in years.
The rains continued all day as “Woody” did his dressage and stadium jumping. He did not seem to enjoy the footing, but he put in good showings in both phases nonetheless. Appropriately enough, Sunday brought sunshine and cross country for “Woody.” Courtney guided him successfully around the Training Level course with only a circle near a jump counting against them.
Following the event, Siren’s Song and Toy Story headed back to Pennsylvania. Courtney then returned to Florida where she is to compete in the Red Hills CIC* with Toy Master and CIC** with Carlingford Sky before heading home to compete in the MidAtlantic and Northeast for the Spring.
