Courtney and the Event Team started off a busy weekend by braving the rain at Sporting Days. Vegas Run moved up to Preliminary; he did well in dressage scoring 36.4, but added a few rails in Stadium. He went on to jump clear with a great round cross county, but finished out of the ribbons.
Homebred R Star (Hope) competed at Training. She scored very well in dressage with a 27.3 to stand in second place. She went on to have good jumping rounds, adding only a rail in stadium and a clear cross country to finish 2nd. Kim Russell also competed at Training riding her own I’m Perfect (Diamond). They also had a great dressage test to stand 2nd in a different division. They put in good jumping rounds as well, adding a rail in stadium and a little time on cross country to finish 9th.
At Novice, Courtney rode Sport and Lazer Lavender. Sport had the best dressage test of his young eventing career, scoring 33. He then jumped clear in stadium and on cross country to finish in 6th place. Lavender, a 14.2h Connemara cross pony, brought smiles to lots of faces as Courtney and her did well in dressage and jumped clear both in stadium and on cross country, but finished out of the ribbons.
