Tip of the Month, July 2010

Keep a daily log of your horse’s activities. This sounds rather basic but is a great tool for you to have should your horse get hurt or for planning fitness schedules. We use a desk calendar at C Square Farm and we just put in what each horse has done (ex. Tigger jumped and walked 30 minutes). You can also put in any medical issues (ex. digital pulse, suspect abcess will have farrier look at, etc.). This reference book will come in handy when you have an injury and need to be specific on what the horse has been doing.
