R Star (Hope) was our only horse competing at this event. On Saturday, Courtney rode Hope in the Young Event Horse (YEH) competition.
Because Hope had a foal in 2010, she is eligible to compete in the four-year-old division even though she is actually five. Coincidentally, Saturday was the 1-year-old birthday for her filly Count R Lucky Stars (Grace). She scored well in the confirmation, dressage, and jumping phases to earn a 75.55% overall score. In doing so, she qualified for the year-end YEH Championships.
Courtney and Hope returned to Waredaca on Saturday to compete in the Horse Trials at the Novice Level. They had a great day.
In dressage, Hope earned her best dressage score to date, 26.5 tie for 5th out of 22 horses. They then put in a great round in stadium jumping, with Hope leaving all of the rails up for first time. A fine cross country round capped the day, and Hope finished in 4th place.
